Storks’ waltz
17:02 / 2022-02-19

There are many places in Fergana region’s Dangara district where storks live.

A large number of these birds can be found also in the Hob Bobo shrine. Here storks' nests on the tops of centuries-old trees have become a symbol of the shrine. Turkestan storks are listed in the Red Book.

Mahalla named after Abdusamad is located in the area adjacent to Syrdarya. And in the middle of the river, there is an island with an area of 50 hectares, known as Wolf Island. Hundreds of storks have settled in the trees here. Locals say that they have been living here since time immemorial.

Storks fly high and build nests in a quiet environment in natural conditions. When they feel safe during landing, they rest while standing on one leg.

Storks fly calmly, and their dances are especially beautiful.
