State Program Adopted
17:27 / 2025-02-10

By the decree of the President “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy in the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy” issued on February 7 this year, the State Program for 2025 has been approved.

The State Program places a priority on environmental issues. The goals of its five directions align with the principles of the green policy, which is well justified. Ecological concerns remain one of the most pressing issues for humanity. Key areas of focus include environmental preservation, green space expansion, renewable energy sources, development of waste recycling systems, and efficient water resource management.

These objectives are reflected in the 2025 State Program. Specifically, it improves the ecological landscape of mahallas, increasing street greenery, creating an environmentally friendly and comfortable living environment, and developing shaded pedestrian and cycling streets. Plans include constructing 80 infrastructure facilities and wellness trails along coastal and river areas spanning over 110 kilometers. The implementation of these initiatives will contribute to improving public health.

Increasing greenery is also planned through efficiently using rainwater and wastewater and introducing a tree irrigation system using modern water-saving technologies.

The issue of water scarcity is becoming a global challenge, making the rational use of water resources increasingly important. One effective solution in this regard is the collection of rainwater and its use for greening efforts. This objective is reflected in the program document.

The planned initiatives in the program, including planting 200 million seedlings as part of the nationwide projects “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) and “My Garden”, as well as the use of solar-powered lighting, also contribute to addressing environmental issues.

The program document also emphasizes the expansion of green areas and the mitigation of climate change effects.

Ensuring the practical implementation of the program should be the responsibility of not only relevant organizations and officials but also each one of us. Only through collective efforts can positive results be achieved.
