Startupers to remotely present their ideas to investors
20:59 / 2020-03-20

IT Park has announced the launch of weekly open online pitches.

In connection with the declared quarantine in Uzbekistan, all universities, schools and preschool education institutions have been closed. Such drastic measures have been taken to curb the country’s coronavirus epidemic. At the same time, the disease negatively affects the development of local startup movement.

To reduce this impact, IT Park, together with the Venture Investment Association of Uzbekistan, Universal Bank and Centil Law company, announced the launch of weekly open online pitches. Within the framework of the project, the founders of local startups will be able to remotely present their ideas to local and foreign venture investors, representatives of venture funds and business angels in an open online format. This will allow them to get an assessment and feedback from investors and attract investment, mentors and partners for cooperation.

Investors who will evaluate each project are members of the Venture Investment Association of Uzbekistan: Astron, Sturgeon Capital, RB Asia, Altergate, Yellow Rocket, as well as business angels.

Pre-selected startups with the best projects will be invited to closed online pitch sessions for further negotiations with investors. Information about upcoming and past pitch sessions will be posted on social networks and Telegram channels of IT Park and the Venture Investment Association of Uzbekistan.

The first open online session will be held on March 23 this year. Its participants will be given five minutes to present their project and ten minutes to answer investors’ questions.
