Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan holds talks in India

Delhi hosted negotiations between the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, with Deputy National Security Advisor of India Pankaj Saran, Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs Vijay Thakur Singh, as well as Director of Department at the Ministry of External Affairs Deepak Mittal.

Delhi hosted negotiations between the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, with Deputy National Security Advisor of India Pankaj Saran, Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs Vijay Thakur Singh, as well as Director of Department at the Ministry of External Affairs Deepak Mittal.

At the meetings, the parties discussed the efforts of the two countries to peacefully resolve the Afghan crisis, ways to restore the socio-economic infrastructure of Afghanistan, as well as the implementation of various projects in this country.

The Indian side expressed support for the policy of the leadership of Uzbekistan on peaceful development of Afghanistan. It was noted that Uzbekistan plays an important role in solving the Afghan problem, putting paramount importance, first of all, to the interests of Afghanistan people.

The parties paid special attention to the issue of training national personnel for Afghanistan on the basis of the Educational Center for Training Afghan Citizens in Termez.

The Indian side expressed its readiness to consider the issue of organization of short-term courses in the Center for the specialties that are most in demand in Afghanistan.
