A regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis took place. The participants discussed several issues regarding the socio-political life of our country.

Opening the meeting, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis N.Ismoilov first focused on the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the second summit “European Union – Central Asia”, held in the city of Cholpon Ata, his proposals and initiatives.

At the same time, the Speaker focused the attention of the meeting participants on the issues of preparation for the upcoming snap presidential elections in Uzbekistan. It was noted that the electoral process has now entered a decisive phase: the presidential candidates have been registered, and the election campaign will begin on June 7. It was also noted that important initiatives aimed at the country’s development would be put forward in the election programs of the candidates.

 “The electoral process in our country is organized in accordance with national legislation, in particular, the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and generally recognized international requirements”, the Speaker noted.
