A moral enlightenment event has been held in Khorazm to honour soldiers’ mothers on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Motherland Defenders Day.

The event was held by the region’s hokimiyat (governorate) in cooperation with the regional women’s committee, the regional council of the Kamolot public youth movement, the regional department of the Mahalla (neighbourhood) public charity foundation and the regional directorate for defence issues, and it was attended by the mothers of young men of Khorazm doing fixed-term military service and employees of mass media.

It was said that consistent reforms being implemented for the purpose of further improving the national army reliably guaranteeing the country’s independence, security, territorial integrity and steady development were giving great results.

At the event, gifts were given to the mothers of soldiers performing their manly duty. A group of young men of Khorazm doing fixed-term military service in Samarqand Region came to the event, which was an unexpected gift for their mothers.

“I was over the moon when my son Rahmatjon wearing military uniform and holding flowers came to the gathering. My heart was filled with pride when I read a letter of gratitude from the command of the military unit where my son is serving. I am proud of my son. Soldiers’ mothers in our country are the happiest,” says Gulbahor Safoyeva of Hazorasp.

During the event, melodies and songs about the Motherland, independence, peace, friendship, youth, love and kindness were performed.
