Soldiers’ letters from the front were kept for almost 80 years

The Uzarchive Agency held a press conference dedicated to the presentation of album books “Soldier’s letters” and “Uzbek-Turkish relations in documents”, at the National Press Center.

According to the Director of the Uzarchive Agency Ulugbek Yusupov, the Agency’s state archives contain unique manuscripts, legal documents relating to different historical periods of Uzbekistan, many documents created in the course of the activities of republican organizations, institutions and enterprises, and along with them already for almost 80 years, soldiers’ letters sent by Uzbeks from the front during the Second World War have been kept as a unique collection.

Letters from soldiers in the album book “Soldier’s letters” contain sincere words of soldiers addressed to their parents, relatives, loved ones and friends. The book also includes letters and archival photographs of that period, which complements the work carried out and is being carried out by historians, political scientists, literary critics, philosophers and other specialists studying Uzbekistan’s history during the Second World War. Among the acts, there are documents about the prominent figure of Uzbekistan Mohammad Pahlavi Efendi, who lived in the Ottoman Empire for some time.
