Uzbekistan delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev met with the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Jan Knutsson, in Stockholm.

During the talks, information on the essence and content of the Constitutional Reform in Uzbekistan was provided, as well as the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan – Sweden cooperation were discussed. Views on regional and international issues were also exchanged.

The Swedish State Secretary welcomed the first official visit of a high-level Uzbekistan delegation to the Kingdom after the opening of Uzbekistan Embassy in Stockholm. In his opinion, this visit is very important in terms of further development and strengthening of the bilateral political and inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the elaboration of the visit of the leadership of the Swedish Foreign Ministry to Uzbekistan this year.
