On March 13-16, Sochi will host the First Festival of Eurasian Mountain Resorts.

It will be attended by representatives of the countries included in the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts (EAMC).

Last year, the administration of the Rosa Khutor mountain recreation areas (Russia), Shymbulak (Kazakhstan), and Amirsoy (Uzbekistan) proposed organizing this Alliance to create a platform for strategic tourism development and promotion of best practices and mountain resort brands. The Shahdag Mountain Resort in Azerbaijan has joined the initiative.

The EAMC sets goals such as developing seasonal mountain tourism, popularizing an active lifestyle, and developing common standards for the safety of employees and vacationers.

The festival will become the first event to bring together representatives and specialists of mountain tourism from Eurasian countries. It is timed to the tenth anniversary of the Sochi Olympics, held in 2014.

The event will include managers and specialists of mountain resorts and representatives of the tourism sector from Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of the Amirsoy recreation area from Uzbekistan will also participate in the festival.
