Smart weather stations are being installed
15:03 / 2021-01-28

Scientists from Inha University in Tashkent presented a solution for online monitoring and analysis of various environmental parameters.

According to the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the smart weather station “OXUS-2” presented by them allows collecting and processing, storing and analyzing meteorological data in automatic mode. It records the relative humidity, temperature and air pollution, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, soil moisture and others.

The weather station is environmentally friendly and runs on solar energy, which allows it to be installed in the most inaccessible places. At the same time, all the data it receives is loaded into a virtual cloud environment. Thanks to this, farmers can receive all the necessary information online at any time.

The technologies applied in “OXUS-2” will facilitate and optimize the work of agronomists, will help to perform the daily tasks of agricultural research much more efficiently and predict the spread of diseases and pests in the selected area.

Six agricultural meteorological stations of the domestic standard have already been installed and launched. By the end of this year, it is planned to install another 9 agrometeorological stations for farmers in Fergana region.
