23:50 / 2023-05-25

The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with the Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, Tan See Leng.

During the conversation, the primary attention was paid to the current issues of bilateral partnership.

The parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation.

The Singapore side noted that it is ready to take comprehensive measures to expand the scale and volume of mutual trade.

An agreement was reached to hold the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition in Singapore in September this year. This will unlock the potential of cooperation between the two countries in the industrial sector and expand the portfolio of joint investment projects.

At the same time, other relevant issues of relations were considered, including the development of partnerships in education, the possibility of restoring direct flights between the two countries, and the prospects for implementing joint “Smart City” projects in Uzbekistan based on the Singaporean experience.

Following the meeting, the parties planned to develop a joint action plan to accelerate the implementation of all the discussed agreements.
