Skate Association established in Uzbekistan

The Skate Uzbekistan Association specializes in skateboarding and rollerblading. Tashkent hosted the founding conference of this public sports organization.

The meeting was attended by an initiative group for establishing the Skate Uzbekistan Association. Its Charter and governing body were elected. According to the results of the vote, Aziz Akhmedov was elected the Chairman of the Association, and Kamol Usmanov – the Secretary-General.

The establishment of the Association will open the door to new success for Uzbekistan’s youth, who will participate in prestigious international competitions in skateboarding and rollerblading. In addition, it will pave the way for the construction of modern facilities in the country specializing in these sports.

Skateboarding is an action sport originating in the United States. More than 23 million young people in the world are involved in skateboarding and rollerblading. In 2021, competitions in two areas of skateboarding were held at the Summer Olympics. This sport is included in the program of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Federations and associations of these sports are operating in more than 160 countries.

At the event, it was noted that 12 Uzbekistan skateboarders have a great chance to participate in Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
