A meeting of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism was held. Issues that are scheduled to be considered at the tenth Plenary Session of the Senate were discussed.

The Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021” was considered. Opinions and proposals of senators, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies were heard. It was noted that while developing the state budget for 2021, main attention was paid to maintaining macroeconomic stability, stabilizing fiscal stimulus measures, and ensuring high rates of the economic growth.

Senators focused on the Law “On the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (Kyoto, May 18, 1973, with amendments of June 26, 1999)”.

It was noted that Uzbekistan’s accession to this international act in the future will provide the country with many opportunities, including to improve its rating in international indices, further improve the investment environment, and determine the strategic direction in improving the national customs legislation.
