23:30 / 2024-02-28

Today, the two-day 16th Silk Road Tax Forum, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tax Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers in cooperation with the International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC), kicked off in Tashkent.

The forum aims to discuss the latest changes in tax policy and administration of Eurasian countries, exchange international experience and practices in solving current issues in taxes and finance, as well as bring the tax administration of the countries of the region into line with advanced international standards and achieve general agreements on the development of cooperation between the participating countries.

About 60 representatives of financial and tax agencies from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Armenia, China, Tajikistan, Türkiye and Japan are attending the event.

The forum will feature eight thematic sessions on regional economic development and tax policy, direct and indirect taxation, digital tax administration, and the implications of the two-pillar solution (GloBE Rules) of the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Action Plan.

This event is a unique platform for interaction between tax and financial organizations and independent experts in the tax field. In particular, it serves to formulate a tax policy that complies with international standards and, as a result, improves the investment environment and develops economic cooperation between the participating countries.
