The Silk Road Cultural and Economic Forum, held at the BYD Uzbekistan Factory joint venture in Jizzakh region, became a vivid reflection of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China in the modern world.
This prestigious event took place within the framework of the transnational media project “Thousand Miles on the Silk Road 2025”, implemented at the initiative of the Chinese media group Shaanxi Broadcasting Corporation.
The forum is not just a diplomatic meeting, but an essential platform for dialogue at the intersection of history and the future, traditions and innovations, regional cooperation and new opportunities. Participants witnessed colorful performances that helped strengthen cultural ties between the two nations through art. The event also featured the presentation of a strategy for Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers to enter the international market.
The media project “Thousand Miles on the Silk Road” has been implemented since 2014. It aims to bring the countries located along the Great Silk Road closer together through information and culture. Over the past 10 years, as part of the project, journalists have visited 53 countries, more than 200 cities, and traveled about one million kilometers. The project has repeatedly set records in the global media space in terms of the scale of its coverage.
In 2025, the media journey is taking place across the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The auto expedition, which started in the city of Xi’an on July 16, will pass through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. This route is not only a historical path but also a strategic road serving cultural dialogue and economic rapprochement.
Relations between Uzbekistan and China are now being strengthened both at the official level and through intercultural interaction and scientific and technical cooperation.
