Silk and wool harvesting clusters will be organized

The further extensive use of the potential of the sericulture and wool industry in the country was noted at the meeting, chaired by the President of Uzbekistan.

The Head of state has set the task of organizing sericulture clusters. For these purposes, it is necessary to develop rain-fed lands and pastures near the places of residence of the population in Tashkent region with an area of 15 thousand hectares, in Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Khorezm regions – 10 thousand hectares each, in Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Namangan, Navoi, Syrdarya and Fergana regions – 5 thousand hectares each.

Based on the Vietnamese experience, these lands of 1-2 hectares will be put at the disposal of the population to plant seedlings of mulberry and other crops.

Instruction was also given to organize clusters for harvesting wool on 10 thousand hectares of rain-fed lands and pastures near the places of residence of the population in Oltinsoy, Shurchi, Konimekh, Nurata, Muborak, Guzar, Kattakurgan, Nurabad, Farish, Tuproqqala districts of the country.
