Deputy Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjayev focused on the issues related to the supply of electricity and natural gas.

“When it comes to creating a reserve from natural gas produced in summer for the winter season, it should be noted that there are two underground gas storage facilities in Uzbekistan”, says Mr. Khodjayev. – One is located in Gazli, the second is an underground gas storage facility on the territory of Khojaabad district in Andijan region. These storages are filled with gas in summer, which is directed to the needs of the population in winter. For example, almost 20 percent of the gas consumed in the country comes from these storage facilities. If we talk about bringing to criminal or other liability those responsible for the emergence of problems in the energy sector, the relevant agencies will give a legal assessment of the actions or inaction of each official. In addition, several executives were brought to disciplinary responsibility.

To save electricity and natural gas, the government is considering the issue of providing early holidays to schools, higher education institutions. However, it is impossible to solve problems in the energy sector only by providing vacations.
