On June 13, the Presidential candidate from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters of Khorezm region in Khiva.

The candidate’s proxy in Khorezm region Rashid Roziboyev opened the meeting. In his speech, he dwelled on the results achieved under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in terms of the comprehensive development of Khorezm region, improving the entrepreneurial and business environment, and the quality of life of people.

Candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented his election program. It covers five strategic goals:

– creating decent conditions for each person to reveal their potential;

– ensuring sustainable economic growth so that people are satisfied with life;

– saving water resources and protecting the environment;

– ensuring the rule of law, the organization of public administration, which is in the service of the people;

– New Uzbekistan is a safe and peaceful state.

The candidate spoke about his plans for the Khorezm region in each area. A separate seven-year program for the region’s socio-economic development has been adopted, for which the necessary funds will be directed.

At the meeting, transformations in Khorezm region were noted:

– for six and a half years, the region’s economy grew 1.3 times and reached 32 trillion UZS, per capita income exceeded 16.5 million UZS;

– enrollment in kindergartens in the region increased from 22 to 79 percent, education in universities – from 8 to 38 percent;

– Urgench State University used to function, and now there are five state, three non-state, and one foreign universities;

– the number of students increased by five times and reached 46 thousand;

– 28 modern hospitals and polyclinics were created;

– mahallas, where more than 500 thousand people live, are provided with a centralized water supply. The growth was from 52 percent in 2017 to 86 percent.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that by 2030 the need for preschool education in the region will be fully satisfied, and coverage will be increased from the current 79 to 100 percent.

To do this, about 500 new kindergartens will be organized at the expense of almost 2 trillion UZS.

In the next seven years, an additional 90,000 student places will be created through the construction of modern schools and an increase in the capacity of existing ones. As a result, there will no longer be classes with more than 30 schoolchildren in the region”, the candidate noted (now there are more than 2,000 classes with 35 or more children each).

It was noted that special attention is planned to be paid to improving the water supply to Khorezm people.

“To meet the population’s growing demand for modern housing, it is planned to build 2,000 apartment buildings for 50,000 apartments. At the same time, by 2030, water supply to 1 million people in Urgench, Khiva, Pitnak, as well as in Gurlen, Tuprokkala, Khazarasp, Bagat, Khanka, and Yangiariq districts will improve. $100 million will be allocated for this”, the Presidential candidate noted.

It was announced that the organization of computer classes in kindergartens and the distribution of tablets to primary school students would begin from Khorezm.

“IT will become the hallmark of Khorezm. First, an integral chain of IT education and services will be created, covering a school – a university – an IT company. To this end, a seven-year digitalization project called “The Successors of Muhammad al-Khwarizmi” will be launched in the region. In the first stage, 110 out of 543 regional schools will be selected, and their first-graders will be given laptops. In high school, programming and web design will begin to be taught as a profession”, the candidate noted.

It was noted that a machine-building cluster would be created in Khorezm.

“Next year, the capacity of the automobile plant in Pitnak will be increased from the current 90,000 to 150,000 cars. The machine-building cluster being created will include 30 enterprises for producing new cars and electric vehicles, and the production of 100 different types of imported components will also be localized. By 2030, these clusters will be able to produce products worth $2 billion”, the candidate said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting with Khorezm voters, said that from 2025, the high-speed train Tashkent – Khiva “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” will be launched. To do this, at the expense of $365 million of investment, it is necessary to electrify the Bukhara – Urgench – Khiva railway. $200 million will be allocated to develop tourism, road, energy, and water supply infrastructures.

At the meeting, it was noted that in the coming years, the wages of employees of scientific organizations will double.

– We actively support the “enterprise – university – scientific organization” cluster system, strengthening practical research in the fastest-growing areas of the economy. In the next seven years, the state will allocate 4 trillion UZS for these purposes, and the exact amount will be given by industries and the private sector. At the same time, 5 trillion UZS will be given to the Innovation Fund to support new projects.

We will accept special research programs in language and literature, history, archeology, and culture. In the next seven years, we will allocate 2 trillion UZS for these purposes. In the coming years, the wages of employees of scientific organizations will double, – Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Representatives of the party noted that they would support the candidacy of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the elections for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, calling on others to do the same.
