Uzbekistan people have suffered a heavy loss. Following a serious illness, the state and public figure, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, famous scientist and teacher Rustam Kasimov died on May 7.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the home of the deceased and expressed condolences to his children and relatives.
Rustam Sobirovich Kasimov was born in 1955 in the city of Tashkent. After graduating from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Tashkent State University, he began his career as an Arabic translator at Tashkent Water Management Institute. For many years he worked in various positions in the higher education system. As Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2004-2009, he made a worthy contribution to the development of science, education, healthcare and social spheres. In recent years, he served as an Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for interaction with public and religious organizations and the Rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.
The long-term fruitful work of Rustam Kasimov was appreciated by the state. In 2006 he was awarded the Mehnat Shukhrati order.
The Head of the state expressed condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased, wished them strength and patience.
Surahs from the Holy Quran were recited.
The President recalled the good deeds of the deceased.
“I am deeply saddened. We did our best. But this is the will of the Almighty. We have lost a loyal to the Motherland, a selfless, educated person, one of the most advanced representatives of our nation. We worked together for many years, overcoming difficulties together. He was a solid support and advisor to me. Let the children continue his work”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The President noted that Kasimov’s family and children will be provided constant care.
