On August 25-30, Samarkand will host the 13th International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari”.
“Sharq Taronalari” is one of the largest festivals in Central Asia. Its main goals are the widespread promotion of the achievements of national musical art, the preservation and development of the musical culture and traditions of peoples, the support of talented youth in music and singing, the expansion of international creative ties, and the promotion of ideas of peace, friendship, and mutual tolerance.
The first festival, held in 1997, was attended by musical groups and performers from 31 countries, and at the 12th International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari”, held in 2019, the number of participating countries reached 75.
More than 100 countries have been invited to participate in the 13th International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari”.
Applications have already begun to arrive, particularly from Japan, Indonesia, Poland, the Republic of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, and several other countries.
The “Sharq Taronalari” has become one of the most vibrant festivals not only in Central Asia but also in the world. This is also evidenced by the increasing number of participating countries every year and the increasing level of the festival program.
