A delegation led by the Head of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shamsiddin Sokhibnazarov attended the 39th Plenary Week of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism.

An essential issue for the Uzbekistan delegation was resolved during the Week: the candidacy of the Department Head, Mr. Sokhibnazarov, nominated for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Eurasian Group, was supported by all member states and approved by the decision of the Plenary Meeting.

The participants heard and approved the 1st report on the progress of the Russian Federation and the 5th report on the progress of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

The Strategy of the Eurasian Group for 2024-2028 was approved, covering issues of the 3rd stage of preparation for the mutual assessment process and providing technical support to member states.

The results of typological studies conducted in combating money laundering and financing of terrorism were reviewed and approved.

Uzbekistan delegation held meetings with delegations of foreign states and international organizations. Issues of further enhancing and developing interdepartmental cooperation were discussed at the meetings.
