At the ongoing 32nd Summer World University Games in Germany, Shamsiddin Kurbanov reached the podium in the WT taekwondo competition.

In the first round, he defeated Muhammad Tayyab of Pakistan with a score of 2:0, then overcame Türkiye’s Enes Kaplan 2:1 in the round of 16, and beat Japan’s Shoki Asada 2:0 in the quarterfinals, securing a bronze medal.

Uzbekistan’s delegation now holds a total of seven medals: two gold, three silver, and two bronze.
