The corresponding decision was made at the 7th meeting of the ministers of tourism and the 17th meeting of the working group on tourism of the Organization of Turkic States, in Shamakhi.
The participants noted the importance of intensifying work on the creation of joint tourism products as a multinational “Modern Silk Road”. At the meeting, the rules of the “Initiative of the Tourism Capital of the Turkic World” were approved and the Action Plan of the Organization of Turkic States for Tourism was adopted, the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan reports.

Secretary General of the organization Baghdad Amreyev noted that the development of relations between member countries at all levels has a positive effect on tourism. He congratulated Shamakhi on being elected as the Tourism Capital of the Turkic World for 2023, noting that the continuation of this initiative will help increase mutual awareness between the member countries.
