Foreign observers who are becoming familiar with the course of an important political process at polling stations in Jizzakh region note that the elections are held on the basis of democratic principles.

Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev, who visited the regional election commission, expressed his opinion about the elections:

"I am well aware of the political events and elections held in Uzbekistan. I was very happy to see innovations and transformations in Uzbekistan, in particular in Jizzakh. Because I was born and raised here. I observe changes and political events taking place in this country dear to me with great interest. Now all the attention of observers who have come from the CIS is riveted on the elections held in Uzbekistan. We studied in detail the legislation of Uzbekistan, recent amendments to the laws on elections, the process of preparation and implementation. Recently, the Electoral Code was approved in the country, which reflects the procedure and all the norms of international suffrage. All necessary measures have been taken to eliminate shortcomings in voting and to ensure free voting of citizens. This will ensure conduction of elections in accordance with the expectations of people".
