At the XXXI Summer World University Games in Chengdu, a member of Uzbekistan national team Sergey Fomin played against American Liam Krall in the quarterfinals of the singles tournament and won with a score of 6:1, 6:4.

S. Fomin was defeated in the doubles and will play with another athlete from Uzbekistan Maxim Shin.
