Nurata district of Uzbekistan’s Navoi region hosted the opening ceremony of the village of Sentob as a tourist village. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, senior officials of the regional hokimiyat, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan and representatives of the district.

It was noted that there are 20 family guest houses and 3 hostels in the village of Sentob, more than 15 types of tourist services have been launched.

“Large-scale activity has been carried out in our region to develop tourism”, the Hokim of Nurata district Azamat Fayziyev said. – As a result of the transformation of the village of Sentob into a tourist village, about 200 unemployed residents, including women, received permanent jobs. There are more than 30 business entities in the village. There is a regular flow of tourists from the UK, France, Austria, Russia and other countries.

5 km of internal roads have been repaired to develop tourism infrastructure. Two pedestrian bridges, a tourist information center have also been built and are ready for operation, new street lamps have been installed.
