Selective observation of inbound and outbound tourism in Uzbekistan
10:24 / 2024-06-03

Regular selective observations on inbound and outbound tourism in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan since May 2024, surveys of foreign tourists have been conducted in all regions of the country, the Statistics Agency reports.

According to the UNWTO’s recommendation, the survey will be conducted at least once every two years, starting in 2018.

In particular, on May 30, 2024, a UNWTO international expert was invited to the interview process conducted by interviewers at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov, and the expert shared his thoughts.

These observations determine the procedure for conducting selective surveillance in inbound and outbound tourism to Uzbekistan’s territory. They also provide a full accounting of the volume of tourism in the country’s exports, the formation of indicators of tourism statistics, and auxiliary tourism accounting.

Based on the monitoring results, data such as the flow of tourists, the purpose and duration of their trips, and the structure of expenses of foreign tourists and residents of Uzbekistan who have traveled abroad are generated.

The organization and execution of this crucial observation will be a collaborative effort between the Ministries of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Investment and Foreign Trade.

The survey will last until June 6 of this year. It is expected that about 14 thousand respondents (foreign tourists) will take part in it.
