The closing ceremony of the International Folklore Festival “Baysun Spring” took place in picturesque Baysun.

At the event, it was emphasized that the traditional festival in Baysun district, one of the cradles of world civilization, the place of Uzbek national traditions, has become a celebration of friendship, solidarity, and art in the open air.

As part of the holiday, which was liked by all the guests, an international scientific and practical conference, exhibitions of national musical instruments, costumes, dishes, handicrafts, works of fine and folk applied art, drone shows, folk games, Tandir Fest on 20 tandoors (Meat on a tandoor in Surkhan style), and a Balloon festival was held.

A suzani 31 meters long, 5 meters wide, a carpet 25 meters long and 5.2 meters wide, and a unique Baysun skullcap 9 meters wide, created by Baysun artisans, also aroused great interest.

Eighty-one folk groups from 16 countries, 130 folk groups from Uzbekistan, and solo performers demonstrated their performances.

At the open-air festival, guests learned about Uzbekistan’s rich intangible cultural heritage. They appreciated the country’s attention to educating the younger generation in the spirit of respect for age-old national values and customs.

In the pavilions, decorated based on Uzbek national traditions, 250 performers of folklore groups from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, and the city of Tashkent, and 1000 performers from the city of Termez, districts of Surkhandarya region performed. They performed the best folk songs with great skill.

The festival, organized jointly with UNESCO, the Organization of Turkic States and TURKSOY, widely promoted the rich tourism potential of the ancient and ever-young oasis.

The festival was attended by high-ranking guests, experts, artists, and fans from more than 50 countries, who also got acquainted with the region’s tourist attractions.

During the festival, the ancient oasis was visited by more than 400 foreign participants, 20 high-ranking guests, and about 10,200 foreign tourists worldwide. Over seven days, 620 thousand tourists from cities and regions of Uzbekistan and foreign countries attended the festival.

According to the international jury, groups from Uzbekistan, Belgium, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan were awarded at the folklore festival and in national folk games and shows.

The international event was widely covered by more than 100 media representatives worldwide.

At the event, the intellectual game “Zakovat” winners, which was held as part of the international festival for the Regional Hokim Prize, were awarded.

The closing ceremony ended with an exciting concert program of famous artists and folk groups.
