Security issues meeting

On June 18-20, 2019, Uzbekistan delegation led by Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan V.Makhmudov attended the tenth meeting of high representatives responsible for security issues, in Ufa, the Russian Federation. The forum was attended by delegations from about 120 countries.
This international forum was dedicated to countering international terrorism, combating crimes committed using the Internet, joint humanitarian response to emergencies and other issues of maintaining international security and strategic stability.
Uzbekistan delegation made a presentation on the issues of combating the spread of the ideology of terrorism. Participants of the event were informed about the country’s approaches in this area, comprehensive measures being taken within the framework of the Action Strategy were disclosed.
Special attention was paid to the essence of the initiatives forwarded within the framework of international organizations, including the Joint Appeal by the SCO Heads of State to Youth, the UN Convention on the Rights of Youth, the UN Resolution on Enlightenment and Religious Tolerance.
Uzbekistan delegation held bilateral meetings with the secretaries of the security councils of Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Iran and India. Issues of regional stability and deepening bilateral security cooperation were discussed.
Following the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the security councils of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation on issues of ensuring biological safety.
