15:10 / 2022-08-19

At the SCO Forum, it was noted that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2021 carried out all the measures necessary to ensure security and achieve sustainable economic development in the region.

Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva emphasized that Uzbekistan’s open, pragmatic and constructive foreign policy strategy has been vividly reflected in the SCO’s activities over the past 5-6 years. Within the framework of the organization, Uzbekistan puts forward many relevant proposals that correspond to the priority areas of socio-economic development in the region.

“Uzbekistan clearly states the need for directing the SCO’s great potential to the development of cooperation in such important areas as transport and logistics, innovative and digital development, cultural and people’s diplomacy”, Tanzila Narbayeva noted. – At the SCO Summit in Dushanbe, the Head of our state focused on deepening the trade-economic, investment, transport-communication collaboration and industrial cooperation.

The establishment and expansion of cooperation in addressing issues, such as poverty reduction and ensuring food security have been identified as an important task.

During the period of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the SCO, priority attention was paid to high technologies, innovations, cultural-humanitarian sphere, healthcare and extensive use of the SCO’s capabilities in the fight against climate change.
