Scientific, technological and innovative cooperation with Malaysia continues

Embassy of Uzbekistan has organized a videoconference with participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia.

The need for using the existing huge scientific and innovative potential of the parties to further enhance cooperation in development of artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, medicine, pharmaceuticals, nano- and biotechnologies, as well as promising start-ups in these areas was noted at the event.

Agreements were reached to accelerate the signing of a new Intergovernmental Agreement in science and technology, to develop a roadmap for establishing practical cooperation in development of artificial intelligence, semiconductor production, introduction of nano- and biotechnology in agricultural production, the energy sector, water resources management, and healthcare.

The Malaysian side will also provide assistance to the Ministry of Innovative Development in development of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021-2022 and establishment of cooperation between Yashnabad Innovation Technopark and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre, Uzeltechsanoat Association and Malaysia’s National Applied Research and Development Centre, Nanotechnologies Development Center at the National University named after M. Ulugbek and the NanoMalaysia Center.
