Dushanbe hosted the grand opening ceremony of the DB Biotechnology Laboratory (Slovakia – Uzbekistan) as part of the memorandum on the transfer of innovative technologies concluded between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Shimko Group of Slovakia.
The laboratory will conduct scientific research on molecular diagnostics of oncological diseases, and the transfer of innovative technologies from Slovakia will serve to develop the national medicine of the two countries.

The grand opening of the laboratory building took place at the Republican Oncological Research Center, in Tajikistan.

A scientific conference was held at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University. Scientists, specialists, practitioners of the medical community of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Slovakia took part in its work and presented their scientific reports.

Scientists from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Slovakia discussed modern methods of diagnosing oncological diseases, plans and prospects for developing joint scientific laboratories in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, cooperation between private and public initiatives in healthcare development.

The launch of DB Biotechnology laboratories in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will allow achieving the highest efficiency and accuracy in determining the histotype of neoplasms, differential diagnosis of oncological diseases, help physicians of healthcare institutions of the countries in choosing target tactics and predicting treatment results.

An important stage in the scaling up of laboratories will be the development of antibodies used in the treatment of oncological and autoimmune diseases at the national scientific and production base.
