Pakistan’s Islamabad hosted Scientific Conference on “The great commander, thinker and poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur: Symbol of friendship of Uzbekistan and Pakistan”.
The event was attended by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Farrukh Habib, his First Deputy Shahera Shahid, Chancellor of the Punjab University, Professor Saleem Mazhar, Dean of the Faculty of History Mahboob Hussain, Professor Dr. Rukhsana Iftikhar, Professors Faraz Anjum and Adam Saud.
Uzbekistan was represented by the Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences Bakhrom Abdukhalimov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Furkat Sidikov, Director of the State Museum of Timurids History Khurshid Fayziyev, Head of the Museum Department Abdumajid Madraimov, Professor of the UNESCO Department of the International Islamic Academy Najmiddin Nizomiddinov, Chairman of the International Public Foundation “Bobur” Zokirjon Mashrabov.
At the event, the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for initiating the conference.
In their speeches, the speakers noted that “Babur is a symbol of common history, poetry and friendship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, a symbol of friendship between our fraternal peoples, which laid the foundation stone of a great empire”.
During the conference, an exhibition of books about the life and work of Babur, published in Uzbekistan, was organized.
