Saudi Arabia delegation to visit Uzbekistan

Virtual talks have been held between the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov and the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih, MIFT reports.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, energy and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia highly appreciated the socio-economic and structural reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Saudi side expressed interest in enhancing investment cooperation and establishing a business partnership between entrepreneurs of the two countries. In this regard, the organization of the visit of the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan and businesspeople of this country by the end of this month was agreed.

During the visit, it is planned to hold Uzbekistan – Saudi Arabia Business Forum, the first meeting of Uzbekistan – Saudi Arabia Business Council, as well as G2G, G2B and B2B meetings. It is also envisaged to hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the construction site of a thermal power plant in Syrdarya region, the signing ceremony of an investment agreement with ACWA Power, as well as to open an energy college in the city of Shirin.

At the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on close cooperation between the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia.
