Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of Uzbekistan Sanjar Valiyev addressed the briefing, timed to hold the CIS International Expert Forum on Information Security in Tashkent on June 29.

The expert noted that the relevance of the event, held on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is evidenced by the global trends observed today.

According to him, it is increasingly obvious that the globalization of the information environment, the widespread digitalization of political, social and economic processes is becoming not only the basis of progress, but also creates several problems to sustainable development.

“Today, the risks and threats of using the information space and modern technologies as a tool for causing damage to the global infrastructure are significantly increasing”, Sanjar Valiyev noted.

Understanding the danger of such threats to information security, which are often of a cross-border nature, according to ISRS Deputy Director, requires the consolidation of participants in international relations and search for mutually acceptable ways to solve emerging problems. These goals are fully met by the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the organization of an expert platform for the exchange of views and the development of recommendations in this sphere.
