The World Sambo Championships among veterans took place in Kazakhstan’s Oral. Uzbekistan’s athletes won 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Competitions with the participation of sambo masters aged 35 years and older were held in 20 weight categories.

Uzbek honorary sambo wrestlers Sulton Isokov and Mokhina Yunusova won gold, Ikhtiyor Mukhiddinov won silver, and Sansizbay Yusupov, Bakhtiyor Turayev, Elmurod Abrayev won bronze awards.

At a time when our honorary sambo wrestlers achieved decent results at the World Championships, members of Uzbekistan’s team also participated in the Grand Prix tournament in the city of Ufa, Russia. Islom Nosirov in the +98-kilogram weight category reached the finals, and Dilshodbek Yuldashev (71 kg) and Sokhibjon Khasanboyev (88 kg) won bronze medals in the combat sambo competition.
