The Samarqand regional stage of the contest “The most exemplary adviser of neighbourhood citizens’ gathering for religious enlightenment and moral education issues” has taken place.

16 advisors who had achieved success in the district and town stages of the contest participated in this event held under the slogan “My life, my destiny – my sacred homeland, my beautiful and unique Uzbekistan”.

After elections of chairmen of neighbourhood citizens’ gatherings and their advisers that took place in May-June this year, special attention was paid to selecting advisers also in the formation of neighbourhoods’ new composition. Educated women who command respect among locals were selected for this position.

“There are 1 thousand 108 advisers of neighbourhood citizens’ gatherings for religious enlightenment and moral education issues working in the region,” says Faroghat Shokorva, chief specialist of the Samarqand regional department of the Mahalla charity public foundation.

The jury evaluated advisers’ legal awareness, work methods, experience of working with documents, participation in the work of neighbourhood commissions and their work carried out as part of the implementation of the Maternal and Child Health state programme.

The adviser of the Jomboy District Tut neighbourhood citizens’ gathering for religious enlightenment and moral education issues, Shoira Aminova, was declared the winner of the contest and obtained the right to participate in its republican stage.
