Representatives of the tourism industry and travel agencies, led by Deputy Hokim of Samarkand region R. Kobilov, visited the city of Xi'an in the Chinese province of Shaanxi to get acquainted with the city’s tourism potential and expand cooperation in this area.

At meetings with officials and heads of the province’s tourism sector and the city of Xi'an, issues of further developing cultural and humanitarian ties established between Samarkand and Xi'an and implementing cooperation projects in tourism were discussed.

The main event of the visit was the Samarkand – Xi'an Tourism Forum under the motto “Samarkand is the tourism gateway to the new Uzbekistan”.

A presentation on the potential of tourism in Samarkand was held at the forum.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed at the forum between the Samarkand Regional Hokimiyat and the organization for developing tourism in Shaanxi province.

B2B meetings with the participation of representatives of the tourism sector of Samarkand and Xi'an were organized at the event.
