The FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Championships will be held in Samarkand on December 25-30.

The first championships in this area were held in Riyadh on December 25-31, 2017, and the fifth championships were held in Almaty on December 25-31, 2022.

The prize fund for the sixth championships, to be held in Samarkand, will be one million dollars. Eminent grandmasters such as Magnus Carlsen, Daniil Dubov, Nodirbek Abdusattarov, Gukesh Dommaraju, Vincent Keymer, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Jan Krzysztof Duda, Yu Yangyi, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Levon Aronian are expected to attend the event.

The opening ceremony of the championships will take place on December 25.
