09:39 / 2021-10-29

Samarkand region’s Hokim Erkinjon Turdimov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Uzbekistan Radoslaw Gruk discussed the organization of a business forum, which will be attended by businesspeople from Poland.

Trade-economic and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Poland have a long history, and in recent years this cooperation has been increasingly strengthened at the initiative of the heads of the two states. This is reflected in the active economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries. In 2020, the trade turnover between Samarkand region and Poland amounted to almost $19 million. There are three joint ventures in the region.

“Poland has a huge potential in agriculture”, says E. Turdimov. – We also have great opportunities in this area. Cooperation in this direction will be mutually beneficial for both sides. We are also ready to establish contacts in the pharmaceutical industry, education, culture and tourism.

Radoslaw Gruk noted that he had arrived in Samarkand with concrete proposals for projects that Polish entrepreneurs and investors in the region intend to implement.
