A delegation led by the President of Dong-A University, Professor Lee Hae Woo visited Samarkand State University.

The Rector of the University, Professor, Member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Kholmuradov received the guests.

According to Samarkand State University, the parties discussed issues of cooperation, in particular, the implementation of joint educational programs in the areas of doctoral and master’s studies.

“Our education institution, founded in 1946, has 58 faculties. 20 thousand students study there”, says Professor Lee Hae Woo. The university teaches students the exact sciences, humanities, engineering, medicine, sports, human resource management, molecular biology. I am sure that our visit will be useful for both sides. Our goal is to establish cooperation with Samarkand State University. If the administration offers those wishing to study master’s and doctoral studies, then we are ready for practical cooperation.

The Dean of the History Faculty, Professor Dilfuza Jurakulova offered to cooperate in archeology, faculty exchange, noted the need for ensuring the participation of archaeologists from Samarkand State University in excavations and research in South Korea. Professor Lee Hae Woo noted that the archaeologists of Dong-A University are professionals in their field, and the proposal will be considered.

Following the meeting, the guests talked with students who will continue their studies in Korea within the framework of 2+2 programs and got acquainted with the Center for Korean Culture.

The parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
