President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chairs a meeting on the issues of further increasing the country’s domestic and inbound tourism potential.
The Head of the state defines the challenges ahead to address the six main challenges facing the industry.
“Last week, the new tourist center built in Samarkand hosted a major international historical event – the Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”, says President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. – Our people and state once again demonstrated their high culture and creative potential. We are all proud that the leaders of international organizations and participating countries highly appreciated our work and initiatives under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Samarkand Summit.
I am sure that the new airport built in Samarkand, eight hotels, a congress hall, a park and other entertainment complexes in the history of our country will become a new tourism gateway of New Uzbekistan.
It was emphasized that now we must use all this for our residents and foreign tourists.
In this regard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs was entrusted with:
– holding a campaign “Samarkand – Tourism Gateway of New Uzbekistan”;
– approval of an action plan to increase the flow of tourists to Samarkand.
The embassies were tasked with organizing a campaign in foreign countries, press tours for foreign media and famous travel bloggers.
