Samarkand hosted webinars within the framework of the “Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: capacity-building, awareness-raising, technology implementation” project.

The event was organized by the Association of Private Tourism Organizations of Uzbekistan, the Department for Tourism Development of Samarkand region and “Silk Road” International University of Tourism with the support of the State Committee for Tourism Development within the framework of Switch Asia European Union initiative.

A team of organizations from 6 countries (Greece, Cyprus, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) was formed to successfully implement the project, designed to increase the tourism potential of Central Asia. The executor of the project in Uzbekistan is the Association of Private Tourism Organizations.

During the webinars, certification training for participants was focused on ISO 14001:2015, HCMI, CSR.

Webinars will also be organized for hoteliers in Khorezm and Tashkent.
