Samarkand State University hosted the Second Uzbekistan – Russian Scientific Workshop on “International Radio Astronomy Observatory on the Suffa Plateau: Prospects for Millimetre and Submillimetre Astronomy”.

The event was attended by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bekhzod Yuldashev, scientists of the Academy, representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the scientific community of SamSU. The participants discussed the current state and further activities of the radio astronomy observatory on the Suffa Plateau.

The issues of the development of the research process carried out in this international scientific center, the effective use of existing opportunities, as well as the integration of efforts were considered. Several practical proposals were put forward to develop cooperation in fundamental research in the areas of astrophysics and radio astronomy.
