Samarkand hosted the final stage of the Women’s Chess Championship 2025.
As part of the 8th round of the championships with a prize fund of $50 thousand, Uzbekistan’s Nilufar Yoqubboyeva and Umida Omonova played in Group A and signed a draw. Guldona Karimova won the duel with Afruza Hamdamova.

Thus, 3 chess players from Russia competing under the FIDE flag and a representative of Poland continued the fight for prizes at the tournament.
Guldona Karimova and Umida Omonova took eighth and ninth place, with 5.5 points. Nilufar Yoqubboyeva is on the 13th line with a score of 5 points. Afruza Hamdamova and Marjona Malikova are in the 15th-19th places with 4.5 points.
80 chess players are playing in Group B. The Uzbekistan national team member Maftuna Mamatkulova, leads with 7.5 points, while Robiyakhon Sardorova is in second place with 7 points. Another 5 chess players from Uzbekistan with 6 points also compete for prizes.
