A press conference dedicated to the forum to be held on 1-3 November, took place at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
“This prestigious event is aimed at demonstrating the potential of the pilgrimage tourism in our country, presenting Uzbekistan to the world community and international organizations as one of the important centers of world civilization, diversifying pilgrimage tourism services and increasing tourist exports”, says T. Mirzayev, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. – Such a week was first organized in 2019 in Bukhara. Later, due to the pandemic and other reasons, the event was not held. This year, based on the relevant decisions of the Head of the state and government of our country, at the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, it will be organized jointly with several organizations. This time the main events will be held in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm and Tashkent.
Samarkand will host the exhibition “Modern Islamic Architecture”, the festival “Melodies of the Soul”, the international forum “Central Asia – Islamic Art Center”. Trips to sacred places will also be organized.

Bukhara will host the “Mir Arab Alumni” Forum, the “Islamic Heritage of Uzbekistan” conference, and the “Islamic Painting and Calligraphy” exhibition.
Khorezm will host a conference “Khorezm – Islamic Heritage”, an exhibition of artists “Khiva – Islamic Art”.

A roundtable discussion on the Islamic economy, an exhibition of national clothes, a conference on halal tourism and a food festival is planned to be held in Tashkent.
At the press conference, it was noted that to further develop pilgrimage tourism in the country, important projects are being implemented in cooperation with Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and the Arab countries. All events will serve to further develop work in this direction.
