Samarkand half marathon becomes Samarkand Marathon

The international charity marathon “Samarkand Half Marathon” this year has turned into a real full marathon.

More than 3,300 people from almost 30 countries of the world took part in the current race.

Hokim of Samarkand city F. Umarov addressed the opening ceremony of the competition. He noted that this international charity marathon is gaining more and more popularity from year to year and wished good luck to the participants.

The competition was held at distances of 2, 10, 21.1, and 42.2 kilometers.

A resident of Tashkent region Khasan Mirsoatov won among men. He also won the marathon in 2021.

Among women, the first distance was overcome by Russian Kamola Ablayeva.

In competitions at a distance of 10 kilometers, the victory went to another Russian Alexander Antonov. At this distance among women, the representative of Uzbekistan Makhinabonu Komilova became the winner.

In the race for a distance of 21.1 kilometers, the first to cross the finish line was Evgeny Fadeev, among women – Gulshanoy Sattarova, an athlete from Kyrgyzstan.

Islam Amonkosh from Kazakhstan was the first to pass the distance of 42.2 kilometers, among women – Ekaterina Tungusova from Fergana.

The winners of the marathon were awarded cash prizes and memorable gifts.
