On May 16-18, Samarkand will host the EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum.
The event is attended by more than two thousand guests from 73 countries. Among them are representatives of foreign governments, heads of multinational corporations, international financial institutions and banks, well-known experts in economics, investment, finance, and technology, and representatives of the world’s leading media.
This year’s Annual Meeting and Business Forum will focus on “Investing in Resilience” – an approach that aims to ensure economic stability in times of crisis and promote sustainable economic growth.

The planned events kicked off on May 16 at the International Tourist Center of Samarkand.
The annual meeting of donors “Partnering with donors to increase resilience” took place according to the event’s program. The progress of work to improve the standard of living of the population and the implementation of the bank’s powers in the countries where the EBRD operates was discussed.
The participants discussed the results of cooperation for 2022 and analyzed jointly conducted measures to solve problems affecting the regions.

The strategic approach to the issue of involving civil society under the EBRD program for 2023-2028 was discussed. The topic “Remedy and sustainability through conflict resolution” was considered with the participation of international experts.
This issue was actively discussed by the participants of the bank’s projects and programs and international experts.
After the discussions, an awarding ceremony took place for the bank’s active partners who achieved significant results in 2022 within the framework of the EBRD’s Trade Facilitation Programme.
