The 19th Meeting of the Advisory Council of the Heads of Archival Services of the CIS countries was held at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

It was attended by the heads of archival affairs of the member states of the Advisory Council, specialists, scientists, public activists, and youth.

“The main purpose of the Advisory Council, held every two years, is to exchange experience in archival affairs and the ordering of electronic archival documents”, says Deputy Director of Uzarchive Agency Sherzod Sodiqov. – As official members of this council, we have the opportunity to actively participate in international conferences aimed at solving archival and administrative issues, improving the quality of work carried out in the country to the level of international requirements and standards, identifying archival documents outside the country and returning their originals or electronic copies, as well as optimizing processes. Thanks to such opportunities, the number of countries offering to participate in the activities of the Council in observer status is currently increasing. In particular, representatives of such countries as Türkiye, China, and Hungary are participating in today's council meeting.

An international scientific-practical conference “Archives and electronic documents – the call of the time” was held within the framework of the forum. More than 40 foreign experts took part in the event. Specialists’ reports on collecting, accounting, storing, and using archival documents were heard.

Presentations of the album book published by “Uzbekistan” publishing house in connection with the 80th anniversary of the National Archive of Film and Photo Documents of Uzbekistan and the documentary film “Eternal Moments” directed by Ali Khamrayev took place at the event.
