Samarkand Archaeological Institute and its Bukhara branch established

Samarkand Archaeological Institute named after Yahyo Gulamov and its Bukhara branch were established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of August 31, 2022.

Important tasks of the institute will become training scientific personnel in archeology, the study of world scientific achievements, fundamental research on the history of the tangible and spiritual culture of Central Asia, the appearance of the first cities, statehood, the worldview of ancient societies, trade relations, the development of chronology. The tasks of the Institute also include conducting archaeological research to identify archaeological monuments of handicrafts, metallurgy and mining, developing the scientific foundations of rare archaeological monuments in the country and turning them into open-air museums, restoring methods of restoration of archaeological finds and ancient technological methods, attracting researchers with appropriate permits.
